About me

I have loved drawing ever since I was at school but always felt restricted by what was expected. I never felt I could draw something just because I liked it. I completed a degree in Art and Education studies in 2007 and qualified as a primary school teacher in 2008. I have taught in various different schools over the years full time and part time.

In 2021, I hurt my back and needed something to occupy my time while I recovered. I fell in love with drawing again and for the first time tried colour pencil as a medium. Sadly, my parent's dog Molly passed away so I decided to draw her as tribute and a gift for my Mum's birthday. Laura Creates began!

In September 2022, I left my teaching job to work on my commissions almost full time and care for my young family. Now I can draw what I love all the time!
